Bio

Doug Matayo is the founder and CEO of Standing Rock Consulting, a consulting firm representing  corporations, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.  Doug brings an extensive and rich background in the public and private sector.  His background in government, business and media relations, nationally and internationally, gives him an incredible insight to solving problems and creating new opportunities for his clients.   

Doug began his career in retail bank management for a multi-billion dollar regional chain of banks.  He has compiled over a decade of experience in the insurance, securities, and financial services field as well. He has also worked for the largest retailer in the world, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. While at Wal-Mart Corporate, Doug managed work teams who were responsible for over eight billion dollars ($8,000,000,000) of inventory and sales annually.  His teams were responsible for sourcing and replenishment in four merchandising categories and included domestic and intentional vendor relationships and negotiations.

In addition to his private sector experience, Matayo served as Chief Deputy Secretary of State for Mark Martin.  He was responsible for managing the office’s day to day operations.  Doug is a former member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, where he represented Springdale and served in a leadership capacity as Governor Mike Huckabee’s floor leader.

Currently, Matayo is a business and government affairs consultant with a focus on operations management, change management and executive coaching.  He has numerous clients in the private and public sector.  His specialty is in providing guidance and direction for C-suite, executive level personnel. Matayo is a graduate of John Brown University with degrees in Business Administration and Broadcasting.  He resides in Northwest Arkansas with his beautiful wife Amy, and their four children.
